the summer paddy reflects
a life's wanderlust

Notes This photo is from a rice paddy outside of the village of Ban Xanghai, Laos, about 2 hours by motorboat upstream on the Mekong from Luang Prabang. The green was unforgettable, the greenest of green. This haiku started with me playing around with the "green with envy" phrase which eventually led from "envy" to "lust" and then "wanderlust."
